The UAS12 Data Acquisition System is aimed at applications where harsh environmental conditions prevail. Surface and underwater operations are supported by a diverse range of environmental housings.
A standard installation can comprise of up to 16 outstations linked to one or two base stations by a common data link. Outstations have the capability of addressing 16 individual sensors of different types and interface standards. Variations of this standard configuration are available.
Wireless and hardwire data links are supported. Hardwire installations enable outstations to be located up to 10km from their associated base stations. Support for twin transmission lines is standard and provides redundancy in the event of cable failure. A dedicated communications port enables outstations to be used in conjunction with off-the-shelf licence exempt radio transceivers to provide complete wireless solutions.
The employment of a strict power management regime ensures that outstations can be deployed for protracted operations with minimal service requirements. Submersible units are normally powered by internal batteries, whilst range of solar and wind power units are available for surface modules.
Custom software for system control and data analysis can be provided by Nicon Designs. Full support is also available to assist users with in-house control system development.
